Tutorial Shaker Card (pics heavy)

My human friend says there are many ways to make a shaker card. And this is how we do it:

 

Meine Menschin sagt, dass es viele Möglichkeiten gibt, eine Schüttelkarte zu machen. Wir machen es so:

 

1. Choose you image and shape of the shaker part. You will need some Spellbinders as shown in the pic below (or other frames of your likes). Make sure the bottom of the shaker part is slightly smaller than the scalloped Spellbinder but it has to be larger than the inner oval Spellinder (hope you know what I mean, if not, you can e-mail my human friend and ask again...)

 

1. Wähle dein Motiv und die Form von dem Schüttel-Teil. Du brauchst auch Stanzschablonen wie abgebildet.

Der Untergrund der Schüttelkarte (also bei mir ist das das Teil mit dem "Last Christmas" Lied) sollte ein kleines Bisschen kleiner sein als der Rand, den es nachher drum gibt, aber ein kleines Bisschen grösser, als der inner Teil des Rands. Ehm, das hört sich jetzt völlig unlogisch an, wenn du nicht draus kommst, dann mach meiner Menschin einfach eine E-Mail und sie wird es nochmals versuchen zu erklären...

 

 

2. My human friend mostly uses craft rubber foam. Preferably 5mm thick, but mostly you can only buy 3mm. We therefore punch out two ovals and glue them together.

You can also use thick felt.

 

2. Meine Menschin benutzt meistens Moosgummi. Am liebsten 5mm dicken Moosgumi, aber meist gibt es den nur 3mm. Also stanzt sie einfach zwei Ovale aus und leimt sie zusammen.

Es geht auch mit dickem Filz.

 

3. To cover the ugly parts my human friend covers it with white Gesso or any other acrylic paint.

 

3. Um die hässlichen Spuren zu überdecken, malt meine Menschin dann mit weissem Gesso oder anderer Acrylfarbe drüber.

 

4. Glue the bottom of the shaker part like shown in the pic below.

 

4. Füge Leim am Rand aussen um den ganzen Untergrund herum.

 

5. Glue the oval onto the bottom of the shaker part. Let it dry properly.

 

5. Leime nun das Oval auf den Untergrund. Lass es gut trocknen.

 

6. Be sure that there is no leaky part. My human friend always puts lots of glue on the outer side of the shaker part too to make sure that everything is leakproof.

 

6. Stell sicher, dass es keine undichte Stelle hat. Meine Menschin leimt aussen rum auch immer eine Menge, damit sie sicher ist, dass alles dicht ist.

 

 

 

7. Place the half finished shaker part wherever you want it. My human friend always first sticks the part to the place where she wants it, because so she can press it down with her fingers and make sure it sticks properly (what would be impossible once the film covers the whole part).

 

7. Klebe nun das halb fertige Schüttelteil dorthin, wo du es haben willst. Meine Menschin macht es extra immer erst am Schluss fertig, denn so kann sie es ganz gut festpressen, solange noch keine Folie oben drauf ist und kann sicherstellen, dass es auch in der Mitte gut hält.

 

8. Cut out a piece of film the size of the oval (outer part of the oval, it has to cover all of the craft rubber foam).

 

8. Schneide ein Stück Folie aus, welches die Grösse des Moosgummis hat, es muss alles bedecken, damit nichts rausfallen kann.

 

 

9. Now put some of the shaky-shaky stuff in (see pic below).

 

9. Jetzt kannst du das Füllmaterial reinmachen (siehe Foto unten).

 

10. Glue the oval on top.

 

10. Leime oberhalb des Ovals.

 

11. Glue the film on top like shown in the pic below. Don't shake it yet, let it dry properly, otherwise the parts will stick to the wet glue and stay there forever. It's important to let it dry for a good time.

 

11. Klebe die Folie fest wie im Bild unten. Noch nicht schütteln, lasse es erst richtig gut trocknen, sonst kleben die Dinger, die du reingemacht hast, am noch nassen Leim fest und bleiben dann für immer und ewig dort. Lasse es lieber sehr gut trocknen.

 

 

12. Nun kannst du noch deinen Rand auf das Schüttelteil leimen oder kleben.

 

12. Now you can glue or stick the finish part onto the shaker part.

 

13. Decorate your card as you like. Et voilà, here is your shaker card!

 

13. Dekoriere nun die Karte nach deinen wünschen. Et voilà, da hast du deine Schüttelkarte!

 

 

Here are a few other possibilities how to make a shaker card. I will not explain, I guess the piccies are self-explanatory. If you still have questions, my human friend will gladly be of assistance, just e-mail her. The orange circle is the ring of a double sided sticky tape.

 

Hier noch ein paar andere Möglichkeiten, wie man eine Schüttelkarte machen kann. Ich werde es nicht noch extra erklären, die Bilder sind selbsterklärend. Bei Fragen könnt ihr aber meine Menschin immer kontaktieren. Das orange Ding ist der Innenteil eines doppelseitigen Klebebands.

Tutorial for Hair Gel Card

Hi folks

OK, now here comes the tutorial on how to make a card with hair gel. My human friend steals the gel from her boyfriend because she has no own gel for her long hair. I heard him this morning in the bathroom, he was wondering where all his gel went to!! I tried to tell him but he did not understand my meow's and purr's. What a pity...I'd love to see him scold my human friend like she scolds me all the times!

Anyway...she made a tutorial and bossed me around to take piccies. She knows I'm a bit helpless with taking piccies. My paws are not made for taking pics. She doesn't understand this. I hope you'll find the pics useful, peeps!

1.

You need your coloured image, a baggy, some distress ink refill to dye the clear hairgel and of course you need your hubbies hairgel (or your own, but my human friend swears that it's better to use someone else's gel...)

 2.

ONE drop of the distress ink refiller only!! Let the drop fall into the baggy

 3.

this should be the max amount of hairgel to put into the baggy to the drop of distress ink.

 4.

Close the baggy tightly

5.

mix the drop and the hairgel with your fingers

 6.

it should look like this when finished mixing it together

 7.

then choose your spellbinders (or you can make it square like here and here)

 8.

cut your image to the size you prefer (make sure that it's smaller than the baggy's size but still big enough for the spellbinder)

 9.

now push back the gel on the top and bottom of the baggy like shown in the pic below

grab your cellotape

put your pic upside down onto the baggy

 12.

tape the upper loose part of the baggy to the back of the image and also the under part

my human friend also tapes the still open right and left sides like shown in the piccies below. Hope you know what we mean!

now it's time to cut out a piece of design paper of your choice. It should be slighly bigger than the image. If you want to, you can make two layers like my human friend did

Now you can decorate your card as you like. This is the finished project of the cute little Mermaid!
